20. Galleria Vittorio Emmanuelle II, Milan
Located in downtown Milan, the shopping arcade is named for Vittorio Emmanuelle II, the first King of Italy. The gallery connects two of the most famous monuments in Milan — the Duomo and the Teatro Alla Scala, one of the most famous opera theaters in the world. The glass roof, while normally spectacular, looks even more festive at Christmas when colors are projected on to the glass panes.
