10. Pyttipanna
The closest English translation of pyttipanna is “tiny pieces in a pan” — a succulent mix of cubed leftover potatoes, smoked meat, onions, and beetroot. As with corned beef hash, a delicious way to make this into a complete meal is to top it with a fried egg. In Sweden, this dish used to primarily be made at home until recently, when upmarket restaurants started making their own, more sophisticated versions. The most popular variation is called Biff Rydberg, and is made with beef tenderloin and mustard cream.
