8. Kerid Crater Lake
While many people picture green grass, black rocks, and blue water when imagining Iceland in their minds, a visit to Kerid Crater Lake will change that image immediately. Kerid Crater Lake is a small lake sunken into the center of a crater, filled with gorgeous blue water and surrounded by the remains of a volcano. One side of the crater is covered with green vegetation, but the other side is made up of red volcanic rock, making a rainbow of colors, especially in the summer, when wildflowers only add more colors to the mix.
