The Most Unique Airports in the World

5. Paro Airport
Paro Airport is Bhutan’s only international airport, and unfortunately for their tourism industry, the airport’s only runway is considered one of the most challenging in the entire world. Only a select few pilots are allowed to land there because the mountainous region that surrounds the airport makes landing very dangerous.
The peaks that surround the airport reach heights of over 18,000 feet, and the valley where the airport is located is very narrow. Flights are only scheduled during daylight hours, and are cancelled during periods of inclement weather.
