7. Iceland

Another country with a large amount of both paid vacation days and paid holidays is Iceland. Employees in Iceland are entitled to 24 vacation days per year, which is in addition to the 12 paid public holidays that they’re able to take off.

Icelanders generally work between 37 and 47 hours per week, but a 2016 bill that was put before Parliament proposed shortening the standard work week to 35 hours. Many Icelanders take their holidays in July and August, so business tends to be quite slow at that time of year.
