Pendle Hill is a long, low plateau that surrounds a few small villages in the county of Lancashire. It’s the site of a few mystical happenings. It was the site of a vision had by George Fox, the founder of the Quaker movement.

It was the site of supposed witchcraft activity, which led to the famous Pendle witch trials of 1612. 10 people were found guilty of witchcraft during that time, and hanged. Now, you can learn about the witch trials by visiting the Pendle village heritage center, or take part in a modern witch gathering, which takes place every Halloween.
