Taj Mahal, India

If you’re hoping to get the perfect selfie at India’s Taj Mahal right now, you might be out of luck. This 370-year-old UNESCO World Heritage site has been undergoing some much-needed renovations that are set to continue until November of 2018.

The Taj Mahal’s famous white minarets have already spent some time being blocked by scaffolding and plastic sheeting in order to receive a mud packing treatment that will restore them to their fullest gleaming glory. The main white dome is set to receive the same treatment between April and November of this year, which will no doubt disappoint visiting tourists hoping to catch an unsullied glimpse of this beautiful building.
