10. King Ranch Casserole
King Ranch casserole is an extremely popular potluck meal in Texas. Often referred to as the Texan version of lasagna, this loaded casserole dish is made of layers of corn tortillas, chicken, sautéed peppers, and tomatoes topped with canned cream of chicken soup. This dish is easy to throw together and is an indulgent treat. Although it’s possible to find some version of this on restaurant menus, it’s most often made in private homes, a popular choice to cook for someone who needs a little pick-me-up.
