Cola Couronne

Cola Couronne is Haiti’s most popular and oldest beverage on the market—it’s been manufactured in Haiti since 1924. It’s one of the only sodas on this list that has no international competition.  Many people in Haiti drink exclusively Cola Couronne over more popular international brands like Coca-Cola. Although it’s possible to find canned Cola Couronne in Haitian neighborhoods in the United States, you’ll only find it in glass bottles in Haiti—there’s not enough aluminum available to can it. The taste is fruity and light with notes of banana, pineapple, and orange present—and its light yellow in color.
