Table Mountain
Cape Town, South Africa is surrounded by a large, craggy mountain range, but it’s not the tallest peak that’s the most well-known. Table Mountain, which sits in the middle of the mountain, is a two-mile-long plateau that has long been a storied part of South African culture. Table Mountain is a source of much biodiversity, and there are tons of unique plants and animals to see in the area.
If you want to explore the area without exhausting yourself hiking, there’s a cable car that takes you to an observatory on the plateau, where you’ll have amazing views of downtown Cape Town and Table Bay. You can also go rock climbing, mountain biking, or hike along the mountain passes.
