4. Single Lady Shoe Throwing – Czech Republic

A popular Czech superstition that you can test out for yourself this Christmas is shoe throwing. Legend has it that if you stand in a doorway and throw a shoe over your shoulder, it will tell you if you’ll be married soon. If the toe is pointing towards you, you’ll be married within the year – but if the toe is pointing away from you, you’re out of luck.
