Daal encompasses a variety of different simple stews and soups that are prepared with pulses like lentils, beans, or peas. Pulses are an important staple food in India, which makes it easy to find daal anywhere, eaten at any meal and with many different types of dishes.
Daal is incredibly high in protein, which makes it the perfect lighter meal. Or it can help fill you up when eaten with naan or roti, and a vegetable curry.
