Cultured Palate: Dishes from India

Jalebi

Jalebi is a popular sweet served all over India –  often found at roadside snack stands, where you can buy it fresh and dripping with sweet syrup. Sometimes, the syrup is flavored with lime juice or rose water, which gives the sweet just a hint of additional flavor.
