Dundee Cake
Dundee cake is a type of fruit cake that originates in Dundee, Scotland. One popular rumor is that Dundee cake was invented because Mary, Queen of Scots hated glacé cherries, so the baker used blanched almonds and raisins instead.
Regardless of how it was made, it remains a popular teatime snack. You can find it in many grocery stores and bakeries around Scotland. It’s easy to recognize because of the rings of almonds on the top.
