7. Wild Game
The Pacific Northwest has some of the best large game hunting in the world – elk, caribou, and deer are all native to the region, along with fowl like pheasant, duck, and geese. Many people in Alaska spend their weekends trapping and shooting wild game. If you’re looking to try some native wild game without having to capture it yourself, there are plenty of restaurants in the region that specialize in local meats. Reindeer dogs are extremely popular in Alaska, but you can find other types of sausages and burger patties in most grocery stores.
