Another delicacy from the Quezon region of the Philippines is lambanog, a fiery alcohol that’s distilled from coconut. The sap of the coconut tree is collected by farmers, and it’s fermented to make a drink called tuba, which is then distilled further to become lambanog. It started being marketed and sold outside of the country in 2001, and at that time, companies tried to find a way to appeal to the newest generation of drinkers, so they tried flavoring it with different types of fruit like apple, strawberry, and jackfruit.
