Torta della Nonna
This charmingly named treat actually means “Grandmother’s pie” and comes from the pretty Tuscany region of Italy.
To make Torta della Nonna, you start with a pastry base and pour unctuous custard on top. The pie consists of several layers of pastry and custard, and is then sprinkled with creamy pine nuts and dusted with icing sugar. The perfect tea-time snack for the whole family!
