Mezcal
Mezcal is a uniquely Mexican alcohol made out of agave. It has been produced in Mexico since the days of the conquistadors. They experimented with making alcohol out of a variety of new plants they encountered, and tequila (made out of a specific type of blue agave plant) and mezcal have been by far the most popular. It’s generally drunk straight, garnished with a slice of orange or lime.
