14. Dorayaki
Dorayaki is such a popular confection that it has even worked its way into anime and manga. Doraemon, a manga character with his own franchise, loves dorayaki so much that many of his exploits involve searching for the sweet treat. Dorayaki are made from two spongy pancakes sandwiched around a filling of adzuki bean paste. Usagi-ya in Tokyo is a great place to find them — they’ve been using their coveted family recipe to make dorayaki since 1927.
