4. Unagi
Unagi, the Japanese word for “eel”, is a very popular dish all across Japan. It often makes its way into sushi rolls and sashimi here in North America, but in Japan, the preferred way to eat unagi is the most traditional method. First the eels are grilled over charcoal, then steamed, then grilled again, and finally slathered in a delicious sauce.
