Hot Magma: Active Volcanoes You Can Visit
| September 10, 2018
Mount Batur — Indonesia
Another powerful Indonesian volcano is Mount Batur, which is located on the scenic island of Bali. The first recorded eruption was in 1804, and it’s currently considered to be an active volcano, even though it hasn’t erupted since 2000. Although they’ve been infrequent, Batur’s eruptions have changed the local landscape. For instance, the lake that surrounds the Mount Batur caldera is at risk of completely disappearing due to the volume of volcanic ash being thrown into it on a regular basis.
Mount Batur is a wonderful place to visit if you’re enjoying some of Bali’s beautiful resorts. In fact, seeing the sunrise from the summit is an unforgettable experience.
