50 Places Women Should Never Travel Alone
| November 9, 2016
Athens, Greece
Everyone should make it a point to visit the marbled ruins of Athens during their lives—but preferably not as a woman traveling alone. As one of the biggest cities in the world—with some of the richest culture and history—Athens attracts a wide range of tourists.
In fact, in 2014, more than 22 million tourists stepped into the streets of Athens. All those people may make it seem as if you can blend into the crowd—but tourists stick out like a sore thumb. Lone travelers, particularly female travelers, are prime targets for theft, and some travelers have reported that Athens police aren’t necessarily sympathetic.
